New Delhi, Feb 8(.) Professional pugilist Neeraj Goyat on Sunday launched the boxing promotion ‘India Knockout Nights’. India Knockout Nights is a joint venture between Neeraj Goyat and the JSW run Inspire Institute of Sport.

Speaking to . at the launch event in Dwarka Goyat, the first Indian boxer to enter the World Boxing Council world rankings said that through this promotion he wants to ensure that Indian pugilists get a similar platform that is available to boxers in developed countries. “This is not a league, every month there will be two fight nights, just like we see in the US, we would have a similar infrastructure. The way I have played in US and Canada, similar infrastructure, financial remuneration, good audience I wish to ensure for our fighters. I hope that though this event other boxers also get recognition.”
He said his aim was to ensure that the India Knockout Nights is able to become a viable financial alternative for the fighters “Most of the boxers are from financial weaker sections of society and they compete for money and jobs for them this will be a good career pathway.”
Goyat added that Boxers who have at least won a medal in the boxing nationals and are over the age of 18 years can apply through the promotion’s social media page.

Speaking to . President of Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) Manisha Malhotra said

“India Knockout Nights is the next step for Indian boxing, through this we are trying to create world class fighters and ensure that there are many more avenues for a boxer. We feel that our boxers don’t get enough competitions in big lights, in high pressure situations. We need to take the sport to different pockets that have not been explored.”
Malhotra added that IIS’s focus has always been and continues to be producing Olympic champions for India and promotions like India Knockout Nights will go a long way in creating a robust Boxing ecosystem in India.
