Los Angeles, Jan 14 (.) Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have been engaged to create the original musical score for Jo Nesbø’s “Detective Hole”, a Norwegian crime drama drawn from the author’s globally acclaimed series of novels.
Renowned for their brooding, atmospheric collaborations, Cave and Ellis bring with them a formidable body of work spanning films such as “The Proposition”, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” and “Wind River”. The duo will bring those noir sensibilities to the series.
The show is produced by Working Title and is based on author Nesbø’s global bestselling crime novels. The whodunnit serial killer drama stars Tobias Santelmann in the titular role of Harry Hole, the anti-hero detective. He goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective, Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman), simultaneously working catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it is too late, reports DEADLINE.
Pia Tjelta, Anders Baasmo, Ellen Helinder, Simon J. Berger, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and Kelly Gale also have prominent roles, with Anna Zackrisson and Øystein Karlsen the directors. Nesbø is the writer and creator, with Tor Arne Øvrebø producing for Working Title and its parent company, Universal International Studios. Exec producers include Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Karlsen, Nesbø and Niclas Salomonsson.
Australian singer-songwriter Cave is known as the frontman of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. His unique voice and style have been the backbone of songs such as ‘Into My Arms’, ‘The Mercy Seat’, and ‘Red Right Hand’, with many featuring in films and TV shows. He has worked with bandmate Ellis on numerous soundtracks.
The nine-episode series is scheduled to debut on March 26.
