Washington, Feb 11 (.) Singer-actor Nick Jonas has been cast in the upcoming action thriller ‘Bodyman’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will be directed by Gary Fleder, known for features such as the Jason Statham-led Homefront and the John Grisham adaptation Runaway Jury starring John Cusack, Gene Hackman, and Rachel Weisz. The screenplay is penned by Byron Balasco, the outlet reported.
‘Bodyman’ centres on a violent power struggle that unfolds during a family Christmas gathering after an eccentric billionaire unexpectedly transfers control of his private military company to his longtime bodyguard, played by Jonas, instead of his adult children. The decision triggers a fight for survival at the family’s remote estate, reported Deadline.
In addition to starring, Jonas will produce the film with Spencer Berman under their Powered by Jonas banner. Mark Fasano will produce for Nickel City Pictures, alongside Jeffrey Greenstein for A Higher Standard.
The project reunites Fleder, Balasco, and Jonas, who previously collaborated on the DirecTV series Kingdom, according to the outlet. Principal photography is slated to begin in June 2026, as per Deadline.
Jonas’ recent film credits include Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) and Roland Emmerich’s World War II epic Midway.
Beyond acting, Jonas continues his music career. Rising to fame as the youngest member of The Jonas Brothers, he released his fifth studio album, Sunday Best, on February 6.
