New Delhi, Feb 14 (.) Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday assured farmers, fishermen and those into livestock will not at all be harmed by the recent trade deals with the European union and the US, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured “hundred per cent protection for them”.
Speaking at an event in Puducherry on Saturday, Shah in response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in connection with farmers and the recent trade deals, said that the the oppoition must carefully examine the intricacies of the trade deal and FTA, adding that PM Modi has ensured that it will not cause any harm to the country’s farmers.
Shah said, “PM Modi’s FTA with the European union and England, and the trade deal with America, will benefit our country’s fishermen the most.”
Hitting back at the opposition leader, Shah alleged that the harm to farmers happened during the regime led by former PM Manmohan Singh, claiming that several such global agreements were made back then, which affected farmers’ interests.
“PM Modi has ensured cent-percent protection for farmers, livestock-rearing brothers and sisters, and fisherfolk,” Shah stated.
Taking a dig at the Congress leader, Shah alleged that Rahul has started a “new tradition of spreading lies these days,” and he wants to mislead the country’s farmers and the fishermen, and also spread confusion amongst them.
Sharpening his attack on the Congress leader, Shah accused him of spreading untruths, loudly, publicly, and repeating them again and again.
“The people of this country have recognised your lies, and once again in 2029, a BJP-led NDA government will be formed under the leadership of PM Modi,” Shah said.
“Over the next five years, we are going to move forward by concentrating on 3 sectors. We aim to create an ecosystem so that the products of Puducherry’s fishermen reach markets around the world. For the youth of Puducherry, we aim to make this place a hub for the IT, AI, and data center industries,” Shah said, adding that the NDA government has to take up the task of ensuring employment for every youth in Puducherry.
He further alleged referring to a recently surfaced CAG report that the development schemes worth 15 thousand crore rupees were completely gobbled up by Narayanswamy’s government, as it was involved in corruption.
“Rs 15 thousand crore means Puducherry’s three -year budget,” the home minister said.
Shah said that when people of Puducherry formed an NDA government under the leadership of PM Modi and Rangaswamy, the regime put efforts to eradicate corruption and also worked to bring political stability.
