Bhubaneswar, Feb 25 (.) Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Charan Swain has directed officials to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for industrial projects worth over Rs.3 lakh crore by June 2026.
Reviewing departmental activities at a high-level meeting, the Minister asked senior officials to accelerate the pace of industrialisation across the state.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department and senior officials from Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation and Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha.
Discussions focused on expediting the implementation of projects approved by the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) and the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).
With the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state set to complete two years in office in June 2026, the Minister has set a target for the Industries Department to achieve the Rs.3 lakh crore milestone through project inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies.
Official sources said that 394 projects have been approved by the HLCA and SLSWCA, involving investments worth Rs.8.15 lakh crore and having the potential to generate over five lakh employment opportunities.
So far, foundation stones have been laid or projects inaugurated for 108 projects involving investments exceeding Rs.2.4 lakh crore, which are expected to create around 1.75 lakh jobs.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to fast-tracking the remaining projects to ensure large-scale employment generation for the youth of the state.
