New Delhi, Feb 20 (.) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met HSH Prince Alois, Hereditary Prince of the Liechtenstein, on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit 2026 in the national capital, reaffirming the cordial and friendly ties between the two nations.
Prince Alois is visiting India at the invitation of the Prime Minister to participate in the AI Impact Summit 2026 being held in New Delhi. The summit has brought together global leaders, policymakers and technology experts to deliberate on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and its governance.
According to a release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Modi and Prince Alois reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction at the steady expansion of cooperation between India and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The two leaders welcomed the entry into force of the India–TEPA Free Trade Agreement in October 2025, describing it as a milestone in bilateral economic engagement. They expressed confidence that the agreement would provide fresh impetus to trade and investment flows.
Both sides noted that the TEPA is expected to facilitate investments worth US$100 billion into India over the next 15 years. They agreed to deepen collaboration in high-value manufacturing, advanced technologies and innovation-driven sectors, aligning with India’s push to strengthen its manufacturing base and expand its footprint in cutting-edge industries.
Highlighting the importance of innovation and emerging technologies, the leaders underscored the scope for partnerships in advanced research, precision manufacturing and technology-led growth. The meeting also reflected the shared interest of both countries in leveraging artificial intelligence and digital transformation for sustainable development.
India and Liechtenstein have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations, anchored in shared democratic values and growing economic engagement. Liechtenstein, known for its strong financial sector and high-technology manufacturing base, has emerged as a significant partner within the broader India–Europe economic framework.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the meeting marked “an important step toward further strengthening the India–Liechtenstein partnership” and reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to expanding mutually beneficial collaboration in the years ahead. . SKA .
