    New Delhi, Jan 23 (.) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with global CEOs from leading energy companies and Indian PSUs and private sector firms during the India Energy Week 2026 slated to be held from January 27–30 at ONGC’s Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Goa.
    The 2026 edition of the India Energy Week is expected to host over 75,000 participants, more than 600 exhibitors, including 180 international exhibitors. This was informed by union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Puri during a curtain raiser ahead of the IEW.
    Detailing the event, the minister said that the event will feature over 120 conference sessions, addressed by more than 500 speakers, alongside 11 thematic pavilions and 11 country pavilions.
    Seventeen Ministers and Deputy Ministers from countries including the UAE, Canada, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Vanuatu, Trinidad and Tobago, Tanzania, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Oman, Brunei and Russia have confirmed participation, with a few more expected, the minister added further. International organisations such as the International Energy Forum (IEF), BIMSTEC and the Eurasian Economic union will also be represented.
    The exhibition will be organised into 11 thematic zones, each hosted by a leading public sector undertaking, covering areas such as Digitalisation and AI, Hydrogen, Renewable Energy, Petrochemicals, Biofuels, LNG Ecosystem, City Gas Distribution, Make in India and India’s Net-Zero pathway. New additions this year include a Nuclear Zone, supported by the World Nuclear Association, and a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Zone, hosted by Indian Oil.
    A dedicated Make in India and Indigenisation Pavilion, led by Engineers India Limited (EIL), will promote collaboration with MSMEs, vendors and start-ups, reinforcing India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision through localisation of critical energy equipment. The pavilion will also host daily Energy Talks on technology-driven transformation and sustainability.
    The strategic conference programme will revolve around 10 key themes, with engagement formats including four ministerial sessions, 47 leadership and spotlight panel discussions, and five Energy Talks featuring one-on-one interactions with senior global energy leaders.
    India Energy Week 2026 will also serve as a platform for concrete business outcomes, with several major MoUs and commercial agreements slated for signing. These include shipbuilding contracts involving ONGC, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Samsung Heavy Industries; a $780 million term contract between BPCL and Petrobras for the supply of Brazilian crude; and multiple collaboration agreements involving BPRL, OIL, Numaligarh Refinery Limited and TotalEnergies, including plans for a 200 KTPA Sustainable Aviation Fuel project at Paradip, Odisha.
    Other high-level engagements include the India-Arab Energy Dialogue, India-Japan, India-Iceland, India-Netherlands and India-US business roundtables, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, trade and investment in the energy sector.
    The event will also place strong emphasis on innovation and start-ups through initiatives such as Avinya 2026 Startup Challenge, Vasudha 3.0, and Hackathon Challenge-2026, with participation from leading IITs focusing on AI-driven exploration, hydrogen economy, energy efficiency and circular economy solutions.
    During the event, the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA) will launch a white paper on Biofuels Financing and a dedicated SAF microsite, while the International Energy Agency (IEA) and Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) will jointly release the India Bioenergy Outlook 2030.
