Los Angeles, Feb 17 (.) US-based Red Bison Productions has teamed up with Mumbai’s Azure Entertainment for a cross-border feature film, marking Azure Entertainment’s first foray into Hollywood collaborations, Variety reports.
The untitled project, written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar, tells the true story of an immigrant family navigating cultural identity and belonging in America. Indian National Film Award-winning actor Priya Mani (Paruthiveeran, The Family Man) and Mohit Raina (The Freelancer) are set to lead the cast.
Principal photography is slated to begin in April, with filming locations spanning New York and New Jersey in the U.S., and Delhi and Jammu-Kashmir in India.
“This project is very close to my heart because it explores identity and belonging in a deeply honest way,” Raina said. “Being part of Azure Entertainment and Red Bison Productions’ first Indo-Hollywood collaboration makes it even more special, as it represents a meaningful step toward global storytelling,” as quoted by Variety.
Mani added, “What drew me to this film instantly was the emotional truth of the story. I’m grateful to be part of a project that brings together such committed collaborators to tell a story that will connect with audiences across borders.”
Romila Saraf Bhat, founder of Red Bison Productions, emphasized the universal appeal of the narrative: “From its inception, this story demanded a global voice and an honest cinematic treatment. With Priya Mani and Mohit Raina leading the cast, and an inspiring narrative that spans continents, we are creating cinema that is deeply personal yet universally resonant.”
According to Variety, Prashant Ramesh Mishra, CEO and co-founder of Azure Entertainment, described the film as pivotal for the company’s international expansion.
“This project represents a defining moment for Azure Entertainment as we step into global cinema for the first time. The story goes beyond borders and the American Dream, reflecting the shared human experiences of aspiration, loss, and resilience.”
Azure Entertainment’s past productions include ‘Rocky Handsome’, ‘Badla’, and ‘Kesari’, while Red Bison’s credits include ‘Bhaag Bawre Aandhi Aayi’.
Further casting details and the film’s official title will be announced later. The project was initially launched in 2023 under a different title and cast but has since been revamped for this new Indo-US collaboration.
