New Delhi, Feb 8(.) The DP World Players Championship, scheduled to be held from February 10- 13 at the Qutab Golf Course in Delhi, got off to a cracking start with the Pro-Am event on Sunday which witnessed participation by leading Indian professionals and a number of established amateur golfers of the capital.
DP World and PGTI recently announced a landmark multi-year partnership, under which the global logistics leader DP World became the Title Partner and Official Umbrella Partner of the PGTI, India’s premier professional golf tour.
The Pro-Am event on Sunday was graced by the presence of PGTI President Kapil Dev. Kapil Dev, speaking to the media on the occasion, expressed his delight on the ground-breaking development of PGTI’s partnership with DP World.
He stated that the new partnership will provide further momentum to the continued growth and development of the sport in the country.
The Pro-Am participants included leading Indian professionals Veer Ahlawat, Arjun Prasad, Manu Gandas, Om Prakash Chouhan and Angad Cheema. The same names will also lead the Indian challenge in the main event which begins on February 10.
The top foreign name in the field is that of American Jhared Hack, who won on the DP World PGTI last week in Naya Raipur. Jhared also played the Pro-Am on Sunday.
