Hyderabad, Feb 3 (.): Sagar Defence Engineering Private Limited, an Indian Defence Company, on Tuesday announced a strategic investment in EndureAir Systems Pvt. Ltd., an aerospace startup incubated at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), marking a significant step toward strengthening India’s indigenous aerial robotics and unmanned systems capabilities.
Founded by Capt. Nikunj Parashar, Mridul Babbar, Lakshay Dang, Ankit Kumar and Saurabh Patil, Sagar Defence Engineering is focused on transforming India’s defence landscape through autonomous and unmanned technologies.
EndureAir Systems, founded by Dr Abhishek, Rama Krishna and Chirag Jain, has translated advanced academic research into mission-ready aerial robotics platforms tailored to Indian operational environments.
The investment aligns with Sagar Defence Engineering’s strategy to deepen India’s defence technology ecosystem by backing innovation-led, resilient startups, the company said in a release.
Commenting on the development, Capt. Nikunj Parashar said the partnership goes beyond financial support, reflecting the company’s belief in courage, perseverance and innovation as core drivers of indigenous defence capability building.
From EndureAir’s perspective, the collaboration is expected to create strong synergies between Sagar Defence Engineering’s industry leadership and EndureAir’s R&D expertise.
Dr. Abhishek noted that the partnership represents a “technological bridge” that can significantly accelerate progress in India’s defence innovation landscape.
Strategically, the partnership will focus on advancing unmanned and autonomous aerial systems, reducing import dependence and reinforcing domestic design, development and manufacturing.
The move also aligns with national priorities such as defence self-reliance and the broader Viksit Bharat vision of a technologically sovereign and future-ready India.
With this investment, Sagar Defence Engineering aims to scale next-generation aerial robotics solutions alongside EndureAir Systems, positioning both companies to play a larger role in India’s evolving defence and aerospace ecosystem.
