Emphasising its commitment to nurturing sporting talent and holistic education, the two-day Shaurya Sports Meet 2026 began with an impressive opening ceremony at the campus of SR Group of Institutions, drawing attention with the participation of former Brazilian football coaches as special guests.
The annual sports festival was formally inaugurated by Founder Chairman and BJP MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, who marked the occasion by releasing balloons and birds, symbolising the ambitions and promising future of the participating students.
He also administered the sports oath, urging participants to compete with honesty, discipline and true sportsmanship.
Vice Chairman Piyush Singh Chauhan, who hosted the international guests, highlighted the role of sports in shaping well-rounded personalities.
He said that sports not only improve physical fitness but also help students build confidence, leadership skills and teamwork, while teaching discipline and resilience.
Students from various faculties participated enthusiastically in a wide range of competitions, including cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, kho-kho, tug of war, badminton, table tennis, carrom and athletics. The campus came alive with energy as participants displayed determination and competitive spirit.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Vice Chairperson Sushmita Singh Chauhan, the visiting Brazilian coaches, faculty members and a large number of students.
The scale of participation and disciplined conduct of the athletes demonstrated that Shaurya Sports Meet 2026 serves as an important platform to inspire young minds, promote sportsmanship and provide students with exposure to national and international sporting values.
