New Delhi, Jan 6 (.) A day after bail was denied to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Iman in connection with the Delhi riots case, a group of students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) reportedly raised slogans against PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
A purported video circulating on social media in which students were seen holding a protest inside the JNU campus against the bail denial to Imam and Khalid , allegedly chanting derogatory slogans against the Prime Minister and Home Minister. The protest reportedly took place on Monday night.
Meanwhile, taking to the social media platform X, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the controversial slogans were allegedly chanted by the ‘Tukde’ ecosystem in JNU.
He hit out at some Congress and left leaders, alleging that they had crossed all limits delivering statements favoring Khalid and Imam, adding that now students belonging to their ecosystem are now raising slogans against Modi and Shah.
Poonawalla claimed that Congress and Left leaders like Udit Raj, Brinda Karat, Hussain Dalvai and Prithviraj Chavan called the accused innocent, opposing the court’s verdict.
The BJP leader said that slogans raised in the protest clearly shown in the video that they have crossed all limits, alleging, “They are the same people who call Naxals as martyrs.”
