    New Delhi, Jan 30 (.) The Indian stock market snapped the three-day winning streak, with the Nifty slipping below 25,250 on Friday.
    At close, the Sensex was down 296.59 points or 0.36% at 82,269.78, and the Nifty was down 98.25 points or 0.39% at 25,320.65. Nifty Midcap index slipping 0.2%, while the Smallcap index gained 0.3%.
    Among the sectors, Nifty Metal lost by 5.21%, IT was down by 1.03%, Private Bank down by 0.63%, Oil & Gas down by 0.53%, Nifty Bank fell by 0.58%, while the Financial Services index ended 0.65% lower.
    On the gaining side were Media, FMCG, and Consumer Durables rose over 1% each. Auto, Realty, and Pharma rose by almost 1% each.
    Further on Nifty, the top gainers were Nestle India (3.46%). Tata Consumer (2.24%), and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (2.19%). While the top losers were Hindalco Industries (5.98%), Tata Steel (4.81%), and Coal India (3.46%).
    The advance-decline ratio remained in favour of advancers as over 2,400 stocks advanced while over 1,700 declined on the BSE.
    Nearly 78 stocks hit their 52-week highs while 291 stocks hit their 52-week lows in intraday trade on the BSE.
    Those on the highs were SBI, Axis Bank, Shriram Finance, and Nestle India while lows included ITC, Dixon Technologies (India), and Colgate Palmolive (India).
    Among the key metal stocks, Hindustan Zinc was the top laggard plunging 12.1%, followed by Vedanta and Nalco, which fell 11.1% and 10.1%.
    In terms of defence stocks, Dynamatic Technologies emerged as the top gainer rising 8%, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers and MTAR Technologies followed, advancing 7.37% and 7.19% respectively. . VK SAS .
