New Delhi, Jan 26 (.) Actors Sunny Deol and Jyotika have joined forces for director Balaji Ganesh’s upcoming film, tentatively titled Antony.
The project is being jointly produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and A.R. Murugadoss.
On Sunday, the makers marked the film’s launch with a traditional puja, where the team also posed for photographs. One of the pictures features Sunny Deol, Jyotika, Balaji Ganesh and Ritesh Sidhwani smiling together, while Balaji is seen holding a clapperboard bearing the film’s title, Antony.
The film is expected to go on floors in February 2026. While details about the storyline remain under wraps, the announcement alone has generated strong excitement among fans.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is riding high on the success of ‘Border 2’, which released in theatres on January 23. After a strong opening day, the film witnessed impressive growth on Saturday, driven by positive word of mouth nationwide.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the war drama saw a 26.46pc jump on Day 2, collecting Rs 40.59 crore, compared to Rs 32.10 crore on its opening day. The film’s two-day net collection in India now stands at Rs 72.69 crore.
With Sunday and the Republic Day holiday on Monday, ‘Border 2’ is expected to post even bigger numbers over the extended weekend.
Inspired by the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, the film highlights the combined efforts of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, bringing Sunny Deol back on screen in uniform.
Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ also stars Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles.
