    Mumbai, Jan 10 (.) The Tata Power Company Limited officially announced here on Saturday that it has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent equity stake in Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Limited (JHPTL), which is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established for the Intra-State Transmission Project in the state of Maharashtra.
    The acquisition, valued at Rs 2.42 crore, was completed on January 9, 2026, following the execution of a share purchase agreement, as disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
    Approval for the share transfer was obtained from the Ministry of Power, ensuring full regulatory compliance, according to the statement.
    The acquisition does not fall under related party transactions, and no promoter or group entities of Tata Power hold any interest in the acquired company. Regulatory approval for the share transfer has already been received from the Ministry of Power, enabling the completion of the transaction.
    Confirming the completion of the acquisition, Tata Power Ltd Company Secretary Vispi S Patel said that it marks a key step in the company’s strategy to expand its presence in the power transmission sector.
    Incorporated on 28th March 28, 2025, JHPTL is a project-specific SPV set up on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis to provide transmission services.
    The project involves the construction of approximately 115 km of 400 kV double-circuit line between Jejuri and Hinjewadi, along with extension of 400 kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) line bays at substations at both locations.
    The special purpose vehicle (SPV) is expected to achieve commercial operations within 24 months from the date of acquisition.
    These upgrades will significantly improve load handling, reduce transmission congestion, and support industrial and urban growth in the Pune region.
    The scheduled commercial operation date of the transmission project is expected to be within 24 months from the date of acquisition. Once operational, the asset is expected to support reliable power evacuation, enhance transmission capacity, significantly improve load handling, reduce transmission congestion and support industrial as well as urban growth in the Pune region. .
