Iran, Jan 24 (.) Iran will consider any attack against the country as a full-scale war and will respond as harshly as possible, a senior Iranian official said.
“This time, we take any attack – limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it – as an all-out war against us, and we will respond in the hardest way possible,” the official told reporters on Friday.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the senior Iranian official said that Tehran was “in a much better situation than during the 12-Day War.”
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a large number of US military ships were moving toward Iran “just in case.”
Trump has said that he would support new strikes on Iran if Tehran attempted to continue developing its missile and nuclear programs. As protests escalated in Iran, Trump threatened the country with a powerful strike if any demonstrators were killed.
Furthermore, amid protests in Iran, Trump said that he believed the Islamic Republic needed new leadership.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that an attack on the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would be tantamount to a full-scale war against Iran.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has said that Iran is under close watch and a “massive fleet” is heading towards the Gulf region.”I said, if you hang those people, you’re going to be hit harder than you’ve ever been hit. “We have a massive fleet heading in that direction and maybe we won’t have to use it, we’ll see,” Trump told reporters.
