Washington, Feb 1 (.) The US Justice Department has released another tranche of material from the Epstein files, adding tens of thousands of pages to its public repository as part of a rolling disclosure process.
The latest set of documents related to the late millionaire businessman and convicted sex offender, ranging from the vast catalogue of files, pictures, and documents, were uploaded by the DOJ under categories “Data Set 9” through “Data Set 12,” and include photographs, videos, court records, internal FBI and DOJ documents, emails and media clippings, according to CBS News.
As with earlier batches, some of the files reference prominent figures, including US President Donald Trump, former president Bill Clinton, and billionaires Bill Gates, and Elon Musk, though none of them have been accused of wrongdoing in the material.
The disclosures are being made under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which required the DOJ to release its records relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell by December 19.
The department has said the sheer volume of documents, combined with the need to redact certain information such as personal records of victims, or files detailing attorney-client privilege, or otherwise material that could be used identify other survivors, has necessitated a piecemeal release and publication.
Among the most striking items in the latest release are a series of photographs showing Prince Andrew — now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the floor.
The images are undated and lack any context, and currently it remains unclear where or when they were taken, Windsor, who has long faced scrutiny over his association with Epstein, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
He withdrew from public royal duties, and in October 2025 his brother, King Charles III, stripped him of his remaining titles and honours.
One image appears to show Andrew, fully clothed, touching the woman’s abdomen, while another shows him crouched over her, looking directly at the camera. The DOJ files do not provide any kind of explanation for the photographs.
The release also includes two emails Epstein sent to himself on July 18, 2013, containing unverified allegations about Bill Gates. In the messages, Epstein claimed Gates had extramarital encounters with “Russian girls” which allegedly led to a sexually transmitted infection requiring antibiotics, and that Gates sought to discreetly give medication to his then-wife.
There is no evidence in the files corroborating these claims, while Gates has denied any wrongdoing, with a spokesperson for the billionaire saying “These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false.
“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.”
Another document, drafted by Epstein as a mock resignation letter from a person identified as “Boris,” contains further unsubstantiated allegations involving Gates, including claims about drugs and inappropriate relationships.
The DOJ has not indicated that these accusations were investigated or verified.
Separately, the latest batch includes photographs showing filmmaker Brett Ratner with Epstein and two women, seated together on a couch.
Ratner is seen with his arm around one woman while Epstein sits beside another. Ratner, who directed the documentary ‘Melania’ released this weekend about first lady Melania Trump, was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct in 2017, allegations he has denied.
The DOJ has said further releases are expected as the review and redaction process continues, keeping the Epstein files in the public eye more than five years after his death.
