Modinagar, Feb 5(.) The second day of the IWLF National Youth, Junior, and Senior Weightlifting Championships 2025-26 witnessed high-octane action at Yadav Farm House, Modinagar. The Men’s 60 kg category took center stage across all three age divisions, featuring a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging young talents.
Senior Men 60 kg: Experience Shines
Commonwealth Games medalist Gururaja Poojari representing Karnataka (KRN) delivered a clinical performance to secure the Gold medal in the Senior category. Poojari finished with a commanding total of 269 kg, buoyed by a top lift of 150 kg in the Clean & Jerk.

Silver: Ch. Rishikanta Singh (MNP) – Total: 266 kg (Snatch: 119 kg | Clean & Jerk: 147 kg)

In the Junior division, Arunachal Pradesh’s Chera Tania showcased remarkable strength, clinching the top spot with a total lift of 253 kg. Tania’s dominant 143 kg Clean & Jerk was instrumental in securing his Gold medal finish.

Youth Men 60 kg: Odisha Dominates the Podium
The Youth category saw a strong showing from Odisha, with Subrat Naik and Mukesh Gamango securing the first and second positions respectively. Naik’s consistent performance across both segments earned him a total of 232 kg and the Gold medal.
